This privacy policy sets out how SELFEMPLOYED.IE uses and protects any information that the client gives SELFEMPLOYED.IE when the client requests SELFEMPLOYED.IE to complete a tax Self-Assessment or file an income tax return on their behalf. This information may be given to SELFEMPLOYED.IE via our website, by e-mail, by text message and on completion of our SELFEMPLOYED.IE tax agent authorisation form.


SELFEMPLOYED.IE is committed to ensuring that the client’s privacy is protected. Should we ask the client to provide certain information by which the client can be identified, then the client can be assured that the information provided will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.


SELFEMPLOYED.IE may change this policy from time to time in which case we will send the client a revised statement (and/or we will update the privacy statement on our website ( The client should read the revised policy to ensure that they are happy with the changes.

What data do we collect from clients?

In order to pursue a request to complete a tax Self-Assessment or file an income tax return on behalf of our clients, we may collect the following information:

  • Contact information such as name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone/mobile telephone number.
  • All information pertinent to completing an income tax return on the clients behalf such as expenses, revenues sources, etc.,
  • Social Security Number.
  • Demographic information such as age, education, gender and interests.
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers.


What do we do with the information we collect?

We require the information to understand the client’s needs and provide the client with a better service, and in particular to:

  • Administer the client’s account.
  • Provide the services the client requested.
  • Send the client marketing communications.
  • From time to time we may use the client information to contact the client for market research purposes.


Information Obtained from Third Parties

If the client provides us with personal information about others, or if other parties provide us with the client’s information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.


Information Sharing

We will share client’s personal information with third parties only in ways as set out in this privacy statement. We do not sell our clients personal information to third parties.

We may provide the clients personal information to companies that provide services to help us with our business activities such as conducting market studies and offering customer services. These companies are authorised to use the clients personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.

We may also disclose our clients personal information:
